Stop Roadkill!

August 16, 1997 - The raccoon was half way across the road before it was hit.
Raccoons usually travel in pairs so if you see one there will be at least one more close behind.

August 18, 1997 - The fawn was found by the side of the road.
Experienced deer usually look both ways before crossing the road
but we have to watch out for those who don't.
At night look for eyes reflecting in your headlights.

This Least Weasel was most likely killed by an owl
and accidentally dropped on the road instead of being run over.
Its downfall may have been that it had turned white in
early November and there was no snow cover.
Note: The Least Weasel is the smallest carnivore in North America and one of the most ferocious.
